Father's Day in Manti

Usually I make it a tradition to go to Manti on Mother's Day to visit my mother's grave. This year, I just couldn't do it. So, on Father's Day, I took the kids and we went down to visit. Here are the kids at my mom and dad's graves.

The Manti cemetery holds a lot of special meaning to me. In the early days of the church, my ancestors came across the plains, and settled in Manti. This monument is to Fredrick Walter Cox, my 5th great grandfather, who helped settle Manti and laid one of the cornerstones of the Manti temple.

This stone is my grandfather's. He served in the US Navy during WWII.

The cemetery is full of my ancestors, and I love to go there.

This is the other reason I love to go there. To see the temple. My mother and father were married here in 1977. Craig and I were married here in 2002. Craig's parent serve as temple workers here 2 days a week. It holds special meaning for me. I love this temple.
