A while back I was making crepes for dinner. I haven't found a recipe I love yet, so I was using one I found off the internet, with the laptop set on the counter next to me. Before you can really understand the magnitude of this mess, you need to know a few things...my house is small, and we have no office, so, the computer and all the paper/crayons/coloring/office stuff gets stuffed into this tiny cupboard in the corner of my kitchen and more often than not, is spilling out onto the counter.... that same corner is also where my Vitamix lives. Now, on with the story...
So here I am, making crepes, in my blender, in the office/junk corner of my kitchen. As if this particular space wasn't cramped enough, Ally wants to watch, and so does Logan. So, with Ally on the counter and Logan at my feet, I begin cracking eggs and getting the batter ready to whiz up in the blender. I get everything put together in the blender and I turn on the blender to it's lowest setting while I pour in the flour so it doesn't clump up....Well, the variable speed dial was left on high, so when I turned it on, instead of low, it came on full-blast! (I would like to blame someone else for leaving the variable speed switch set to high, but Craig had been gone hunting all week, and it was most definitely me, who forgot to set it back when I was done...) So, a blender full of milk and eggs shot straight into the air- all over the cupboards, all over the counter, all over the pile-o-crap that was on the counter, all over the laptop, and my phone which was also sitting right there on the counter too... And last but not least, all over all of us, me, Ally, and Logan! It took me a few seconds to process what had just happened, and when I did, I couldn't help but laugh at the scene.
Logan was crying with egg batter dripping off his eyelashes... until I started laughing and pulled out the camera, then he realized it was pretty funny.
Notice the batter dripping off the cupboards? And see that huge pile of junk in the background? Well, one nice thing is that all of it got thrown away, and I didn't have to figure out what to do with it :) Immediately after taking this picture, I took apart my phone, and cleaned it out while Craig disassembled the computer to clean in out before it was toast. Lucky for us, everything was salvaged! No harm done :)
